Epson XP-306 Reset Waste Ink Counter
A waste ink counter warning can prevent Epson XP-306 from printing even when the printer is otherwise working normally. Follow the checks and reset sequence below to restore operation safely.
Why Epson XP-306 stops printing
Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson XP-306 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-306. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson XP-306
The reset normally takes only a few minutes, but the printer must be detected correctly before the key is used.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-306 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-306 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-306.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-306 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Install the original Epson driver for XP-306; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
