Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson WorkForce 520 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.

Reset the counter in Epson WorkForce 520
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

If Epson WorkForce 520 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for WorkForce 520; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
