Epson XP-960 Reset Waste Ink Counter
Epson XP-960 records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.
Why Epson XP-960 stops printing
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson XP-960 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-960. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson XP-960
The reset normally takes only a few minutes, but the printer must be detected correctly before the key is used.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-960 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-960 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-960.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-960 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Install the original Epson driver for XP-960; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
Can I reset Epson XP-960 over Wi-Fi?
No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
