Epson ET-2802 Reset Waste Ink Counter

What the Epson ET-2802 service message means
Epson ET-2802 uses stored counter data to estimate absorber usage. The estimate may reach its limit before the pads appear completely saturated, but physical maintenance should still be considered.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson ET-2802. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson ET-2802
Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for ET-2802 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson ET-2802 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson ET-2802.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson ET-2802 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Install the original Epson driver for ET-2802; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
What if the first reset attempt fails?

No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
