When Canon TS8190 reports that the ink absorber is full, turning it off and on will not normally remove the lock. The printer must be prepared correctly and its counter reset.
The waste ink counter inside Canon TS8190
The absorber pads collect ink generated during print-head cleaning. Canon TS8190 tracks those maintenance cycles in memory rather than measuring the pads directly.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon TS8190. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon TS8190
- Turn the printer off.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon TS8190 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon TS8190 is not detected
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
