Canon MG3170 can stop printing when its internal ink absorber counter reaches a programmed threshold. Follow the model-specific preparation below before using Wic Reset Connect.
What stops Canon MG3170 from printing
Canon MG3170 uses a stored counter as a maintenance safeguard. Reaching the threshold can produce an Ink Absorber Full, Service Required or related support-code message.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG3170. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG3170
- Turn the printer off.

Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MG3170 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG3170 is not detected
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
