Canon G4100 Ink Absorber Full Reset
When Canon G4100 reports that the ink absorber is full, turning it off and on will not normally remove the lock. The printer must be prepared correctly and its counter reset.
Understanding the Canon G4100 ink absorber warning
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon G4100 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon G4100. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon G4100
- Turn the printer off.

Reset the counter in Canon G4100
Check cartridges, close Canon utilities and connect the printer directly to Windows before beginning the reset.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G4100 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G4100 is not detected
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Connect Canon G4100 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
