Epson ET-4700 Reset Waste Ink Counter
Epson ET-4700 may refuse new print jobs after estimating that the waste ink pads have reached their service limit. Wic Reset Connect can reset the software counter after the printer is prepared correctly.
What the Epson ET-4700 service message means
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson ET-4700 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson ET-4700. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson ET-4700
Complete these steps in order. A direct USB connection and the original Epson driver are essential for reliable communication.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for ET-4700 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson ET-4700 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson ET-4700.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson ET-4700 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Install the original Epson driver for ET-4700; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

Does Epson ET-4700 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
