Epson L201 Reset Waste Ink Counter
A waste ink counter warning can prevent Epson L201 from printing even when the printer is otherwise working normally. Follow the checks and reset sequence below to restore operation safely.
Before resetting Epson L201
Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson L201 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson L201. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson L201
Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for L201 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson L201 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L201.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson L201 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for L201; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.

Does Epson L201 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
