Canon PRO-1000 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon PRO-1000 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
Why Canon PRO-1000 reports an absorber error
Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon PRO-1000 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon PRO-1000. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon PRO-1000
- Turn the printer off.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon PRO-1000 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon PRO-1000 is not detected
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Connect Canon PRO-1000 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
