Canon MP237 Ink Absorber Full Reset
When Canon MP237 reports that the ink absorber is full, turning it off and on will not normally remove the lock. The printer must be prepared correctly and its counter reset.
Before resetting Canon MP237
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon MP237 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MP237. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MP237
- Turn the printer off.

Reset the counter in Canon MP237

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MP237 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MP237 is not detected
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Connect Canon MP237 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
