Understanding the Canon MB5450 ink absorber warning
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon MB5450 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.

How to enter service mode on Canon MB5450
- Turn the printer off.

Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.

- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Connect Canon MB5450 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
