The problem

Understanding the Epson N10 waste ink warning

Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson N10 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson N10. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Epson N10

Complete these steps in order. A direct USB connection and the original Epson driver are essential for reliable communication.

  1. Install the original driver

Install the official Epson driver for N10 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

  2. Connect directly by USB

Connect Epson N10 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson N10.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.

Finish correctly: After the program confirms completion, close it, turn Epson N10 off for about 10 seconds and switch it on again. The maintenance lock should be cleared.
If Epson N10 is not detected
  • Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
  • Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
  • Install the original Epson driver for N10; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
  • Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
