Epson ET-1118 Reset Waste Ink Counter
A waste ink counter warning can prevent Epson ET-1118 from printing even when the printer is otherwise working normally. Follow the checks and reset sequence below to restore operation safely.
Before resetting Epson ET-1118
An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson ET-1118 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson ET-1118. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson ET-1118
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for ET-1118 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson ET-1118 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson ET-1118.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson ET-1118 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does Epson ET-1118 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
