Canon TR4550 Ink Absorber Full Reset
When Canon TR4550 reports that the ink absorber is full, turning it off and on will not normally remove the lock. The printer must be prepared correctly and its counter reset.
Why Canon TR4550 reports an absorber error
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon TR4550 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon TR4550. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon TR4550
- Turn the printer off.

If Canon TR4550 is not detected
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Connect Canon TR4550 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
