Canon G1000 Ink Absorber Full Reset
If Canon G1000 displays an ink absorber full or service-required warning, the stored waste ink counter may have reached its limit. This guide covers service mode, USB preparation and the reset itself.
Before resetting Canon G1000
Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon G1000 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon G1000. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon G1000
- Turn the printer off.

- Press and release Stop/Reset 5 keer.

Reset the counter in Canon G1000
Prepare Canon G1000 before entering the key. A stable service-mode state and direct USB connection are essential.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G1000 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G1000 is not detected
- Connect Canon G1000 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.

Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
Can I perform the reset over Wi-Fi?
No. Use a direct USB connection between the printer and a Windows computer.
