Epson NX305 records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.
Understanding the Epson NX305 waste ink warning
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson NX305 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson NX305. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson NX305
Start with the connection checks below, then run the reset without opening other printer programs during the process.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for NX305 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson NX305 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson NX305.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson NX305 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Install the original Epson driver for NX305; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
Epson NX305 reset FAQ
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
Does Epson NX305 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
