Canon TS8050 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon TS8050 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
The waste ink counter inside Canon TS8050
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon TS8050 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon TS8050. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon TS8050
- Turn the printer off.

Work through the sequence without rushing. Incorrect button timing or a blinking power light means the printer is not ready for the counter reset.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon TS8050 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon TS8050 is not detected
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Connect Canon TS8050 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.

Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
Does Canon TS8050 require service mode?
Yes. The printer must expose its maintenance interface before the counter can be reset with Wic Reset Connect.
