Epson SX230 Reset Waste Ink Counter

Before resetting Epson SX230
Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson SX230 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson SX230. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson SX230
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for SX230 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect Epson SX230 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson SX230.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson SX230 is not detected
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Install the original Epson driver for SX230; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
