Epson PX-045A Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson PX-045A reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
The counter behind the Epson PX-045A warning
Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson PX-045A adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson PX-045A. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson PX-045A
Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for PX-045A and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson PX-045A to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson PX-045A.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson PX-045A is not detected
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.

How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
Can I reset Epson PX-045A over Wi-Fi?
No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
Does Epson PX-045A need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
