Epson XP-445 Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson XP-445 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
What the Epson XP-445 service message means
Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson XP-445 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-445. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson XP-445
Complete these steps in order. A direct USB connection and the original Epson driver are essential for reliable communication.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-445 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-445 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-445.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-445 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
