Epson NX230 Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson NX230 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
Why the ink pad counter blocks Epson NX230
Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson NX230 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson NX230. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson NX230
Complete these steps in order. A direct USB connection and the original Epson driver are essential for reliable communication.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for NX230 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson NX230 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson NX230.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson NX230 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for NX230; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
