Epson K305 Reset Waste Ink Counter
If your Epson K305 has stopped with an ink pad or service-life warning, the printer may have reached its waste ink counter limit. This model-specific guide explains what the message means and how to complete the reset with Wic Reset Connect.
Before resetting Epson K305
Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson K305 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson K305. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson K305
The reset normally takes only a few minutes, but the printer must be detected correctly before the key is used.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for K305 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson K305 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson K305.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson K305 is not detected
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.

Does Epson K305 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
