Canon MG6880 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon MG6880 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
What the Canon MG6880 service message means
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon MG6880 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG6880. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG6880
- Turn the printer off.

Reset the counter in Canon MG6880

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MG6880 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG6880 is not detected
- Connect Canon MG6880 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.

Can I perform the reset over Wi-Fi?
No. Use a direct USB connection between the printer and a Windows computer.
Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
