Epson PX-1004 Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson PX-1004 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
Why Epson PX-1004 stops printing
The printer protects against possible ink overflow by monitoring an internal service counter. On Epson PX-1004, reaching the threshold can trigger an ink pad warning and block further jobs.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson PX-1004. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson PX-1004
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for PX-1004 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson PX-1004 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson PX-1004.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson PX-1004 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for PX-1004; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.

Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does Epson PX-1004 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
