Epson L3166 Reset Waste Ink Counter
Epson L3166 may refuse new print jobs after estimating that the waste ink pads have reached their service limit. Wic Reset Connect can reset the software counter after the printer is prepared correctly.
Before resetting Epson L3166
Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson L3166 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.

Reset the counter in Epson L3166

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for L3166 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson L3166 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L3166.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson L3166 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.

The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
