Canon MG4120 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon MG4120 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
What stops Canon MG4120 from printing
Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon MG4120 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG4120. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG4120
- Turn the printer off.
- Appuyer et maintenir Stop/Reset.

- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 6 fois.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon MG4120
Check cartridges, close Canon utilities and connect the printer directly to Windows before beginning the reset.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MG4120 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG4120 is not detected
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Connect Canon MG4120 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.

No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
