Why Canon G4400 reports an absorber error
An absorber message concerns both software and maintenance. The counter can be reset, while heavily saturated pads may still need cleaning or replacement.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon G4400. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon G4400
- Turn the printer off.

- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 5 fois.

Reset the counter in Canon G4400
Prepare Canon G4400 before entering the key. A stable service-mode state and direct USB connection are essential.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G4400 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G4400 is not detected
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Connect Canon G4400 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
