Epson CX5000 Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson CX5000 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
Understanding the Epson CX5000 waste ink warning
Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson CX5000 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson CX5000. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson CX5000
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for CX5000 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson CX5000 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson CX5000.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson CX5000 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for CX5000; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.

How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.

No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
