Epson BX635FWD Reset Waste Ink Counter
A waste ink counter warning can prevent Epson BX635FWD from printing even when the printer is otherwise working normally. Follow the checks and reset sequence below to restore operation safely.
The counter behind the Epson BX635FWD warning
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson BX635FWD estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson BX635FWD. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson BX635FWD
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for BX635FWD and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson BX635FWD to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson BX635FWD.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson BX635FWD is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Install the original Epson driver for BX635FWD; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
