Canon IB4160 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon IB4160 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
Understanding the Canon IB4160 ink absorber warning
The absorber pads collect ink generated during print-head cleaning. Canon IB4160 tracks those maintenance cycles in memory rather than measuring the pads directly.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon IB4160. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon IB4160
- Turn the printer off.

Reset the counter in Canon IB4160

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon IB4160 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon IB4160 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Connect Canon IB4160 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
