Canon GM2050 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon GM2050 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
What stops Canon GM2050 from printing
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon GM2050 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon GM2050. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon GM2050
- Turn the printer off.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon GM2050 is not detected
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Connect Canon GM2050 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
