Epson NX120 Reset Waste Ink Counter
A waste ink counter warning can prevent Epson NX120 from printing even when the printer is otherwise working normally. Follow the checks and reset sequence below to restore operation safely.
Before resetting Epson NX120
An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson NX120 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson NX120. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson NX120
The reset normally takes only a few minutes, but the printer must be detected correctly before the key is used.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for NX120 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson NX120 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson NX120.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson NX120 is not detected
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Install the original Epson driver for NX120; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.

What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does Epson NX120 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
