An absorber warning on Canon TS9080 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
Understanding the Canon TS9080 ink absorber warning
Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon TS9080 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon TS9080. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon TS9080
- Turn the printer off.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon TS9080 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon TS9080 is not detected
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.

No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
