Canon G4902 Ink Absorber Full Reset
When Canon G4902 reports that the ink absorber is full, turning it off and on will not normally remove the lock. The printer must be prepared correctly and its counter reset.
What the Canon G4902 service message means
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon G4902 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon G4902. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon G4902
- Turn the printer off.
- Mantenga pulsado Parar/Restablecer.
- Mientras mantiene pulsado Stop/Reset, pulse y mantenga pulsado Potencia.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 5 veces.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon G4902
Work through the sequence without rushing. Incorrect button timing or a blinking power light means the printer is not ready for the counter reset.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G4902 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G4902 is not detected
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Connect Canon G4902 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
