Epson L557 Reset Waste Ink Counter
Epson L557 records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.
Why the ink pad counter blocks Epson L557
Epson L557 uses stored counter data to estimate absorber usage. The estimate may reach its limit before the pads appear completely saturated, but physical maintenance should still be considered.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson L557. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson L557
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for L557 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson L557 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L557.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson L557 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for L557; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.

What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
Does Epson L557 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
