Epson ET-2865 Reset Waste Ink Counter

Why Epson ET-2865 stops printing
Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson ET-2865 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson ET-2865. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson ET-2865
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for ET-2865 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson ET-2865 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson ET-2865.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson ET-2865 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Install the original Epson driver for ET-2865; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
