The problem

What the Canon TS8360 service message means

Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon TS8360 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon TS8360. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Reset the counter in Canon TS8360

Prepare Canon TS8360 before entering the key. A stable service-mode state and direct USB connection are essential.

  1. Prepare the printer

Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

  2. Connect directly by USB

    Connect Canon TS8360 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.

Finish correctly: Finish the procedure by closing the program and power-cycling Canon TS8360. The absorber-related software lock should then be cleared.
If Canon TS8360 is not detected
  • If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
  • If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
  • Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
  • Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
