Canon TS706 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon TS706 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
The waste ink counter inside Canon TS706
An absorber message concerns both software and maintenance. The counter can be reset, while heavily saturated pads may still need cleaning or replacement.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon TS706. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon TS706
- Turn the printer off.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 5 times.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon TS706
First make sure the power indicator is steady and no cartridge or mechanical error is active. Then prepare the Windows computer and direct USB connection.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon TS706 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon TS706 is not detected
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.

Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
