Canon TR9000 Ink Absorber Full Reset
The waste ink system in Canon TR9000 collects ink used during cleaning cycles. Once the estimated limit is reached, service mode and a compatible counter reset may be required.
What the Canon TR9000 service message means
Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon TR9000 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon TR9000. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon TR9000
- Turn the printer off.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 5 times.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon TR9000
Service mode must be entered correctly before Wic Reset Connect can communicate with the maintenance interface. Resolve other printer errors first.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon TR9000 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon TR9000 is not detected
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Connect Canon TR9000 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.

Can I perform the reset over Wi-Fi?
No. Use a direct USB connection between the printer and a Windows computer.
