Canon MG4250 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon MG4250 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
The waste ink counter inside Canon MG4250
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon MG4250 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG4250. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG4250
- Turn the printer off.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 6 times.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon MG4250
The counter reset normally takes only a few minutes after Canon MG4250 has entered service mode successfully.

Prepare the printer

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MG4250 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG4250 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Connect Canon MG4250 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.

Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
