Canon MG3120 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
Understanding the Canon MG3120 ink absorber warning
The absorber pads collect ink generated during print-head cleaning. Canon MG3120 tracks those maintenance cycles in memory rather than measuring the pads directly.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG3120. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG3120
- Turn the printer off.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 6 times.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon MG3120
First make sure the power indicator is steady and no cartridge or mechanical error is active. Then prepare the Windows computer and direct USB connection.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MG3120 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG3120 is not detected
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Connect Canon MG3120 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
