Canon MB2150 Ink Absorber Full Reset
When Canon MB2150 reports that the ink absorber is full, turning it off and on will not normally remove the lock. The printer must be prepared correctly and its counter reset.
Before resetting Canon MB2150
Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon MB2150 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MB2150. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MB2150
- Turn the printer off.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 5 times.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon MB2150
The counter reset normally takes only a few minutes after Canon MB2150 has entered service mode successfully.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MB2150 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MB2150 is not detected
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.

Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
Does Canon MB2150 require service mode?
Yes. The printer must expose its maintenance interface before the counter can be reset with Wic Reset Connect.
