Canon iP1300 Ink Absorber Full Reset
If your Canon iP1300 suddenly refuses to print and shows a maintenance or service warning, the ink absorber counter may have reached its limit.
Ink absorber pads store waste ink during normal operation. Canon firmware tracks this using a software counter and may stop printing when it reaches the limit.
This page is prepared for Canon iP1300. Service mode instructions are shown only when a matching series procedure is known.
How the Error Appears
- Service / maintenance warning on the screen or driver
- Printer refuses to print even with ink available
- Blinking lights and queued jobs fail
- Error reappears after restart
Reset the Ink Absorber Counter
Completing the reset clears the internal ink absorber counter stored in printer memory and restores normal operation.
Warnings
Treat the reset as a maintenance step. If your printer has extremely high usage, consider cleaning/replacing absorber pads to avoid overflow.
Need a reset solution?
If your model does not show a service mode section, it means no matching procedure was found for its series.
If It Doesn’t Work
- Try a different USB cable/port if using PC software.
- Power-cycle the printer and try again.
- Repeat the service mode steps carefully (timing matters).
- Close other Canon printer utilities while resetting.
- Use the correct Stop/Reset press count for your series.
