Canon G5090 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon G5090 can lock printing when the waste ink (ink absorber) counter hits a predefined threshold. This guide explains how to reset it.
During head cleaning, surplus ink is routed to internal absorber pads. Canon G5090 monitors this via a counter and can lock printing at a threshold.
This page is prepared for Canon G5090. Service mode instructions are shown only when a matching series procedure is known.
What You May Notice
- ‘Ink Absorber Full’ / ‘Service Required’ message
- Support/service code (varies by series)
- Printing blocked after cleaning cycles
- Reset required to continue printing
How to Enter Service Mode on Canon G5090
If your Canon G5090 supports service mode reset, follow the steps below before performing the counter reset.
- Turn the printer OFF.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset (keep holding Power).
- Press Stop/Reset 5 times.
- Release Power — the printer should enter service mode.
If it doesn’t work, repeat the sequence carefully. The press count depends on the series.
Reset the Ink Absorber Counter
Completing the reset clears the internal ink absorber counter stored in printer memory and restores normal operation.
Important Notes
If absorber pads are truly saturated, ignoring maintenance can lead to ink leakage inside the printer. The counter reset only removes the software lock.
