Canon G3000 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon G3000 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
Understanding the Canon G3000 ink absorber warning
An absorber message concerns both software and maintenance. The counter can be reset, while heavily saturated pads may still need cleaning or replacement.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon G3000. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon G3000
- Turn the printer off.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.

Reset the counter in Canon G3000
Work through the sequence without rushing. Incorrect button timing or a blinking power light means the printer is not ready for the counter reset.
-
Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.
-
Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G3000 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.
-
Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.
-
Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G3000 is not detected
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Connect Canon G3000 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
