Canon G2000 Ink Absorber Full Reset — Easily Bring Your Printer Back to Life
Canon G2000 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
What the Canon G2000 service message means
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon G2000 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon G2000. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon G2000
- Turn the printer off.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 5 times.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon G2000
Service mode must be entered correctly before Wic Reset Connect can communicate with the maintenance interface. Resolve other printer errors first.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G2000 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G2000 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Connect Canon G2000 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.

Can I perform the reset over Wi-Fi?
No. Use a direct USB connection between the printer and a Windows computer.
What if my reset key was used during a failed attempt?
Correct the cause first, then use the new-key generator or contact support for assistance.
Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
