Canon G1100 Ink Absorber Full Reset
The waste ink system in Canon G1100 collects ink used during cleaning cycles. Once the estimated limit is reached, service mode and a compatible counter reset may be required.
What the Canon G1100 service message means
The absorber pads collect ink generated during print-head cleaning. Canon G1100 tracks those maintenance cycles in memory rather than measuring the pads directly.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon G1100. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon G1100
- Turn the printer off.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 5 times.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon G1100
The counter reset normally takes only a few minutes after Canon G1100 has entered service mode successfully.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G1100 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G1100 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Connect Canon G1100 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.

Can I perform the reset over Wi-Fi?
No. Use a direct USB connection between the printer and a Windows computer.
Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
What if my reset key was used during a failed attempt?
Correct the cause first, then use the new-key generator or contact support for assistance.
