An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson XP-447 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-447. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson XP-447
Complete these steps in order. A direct USB connection and the original Epson driver are essential for reliable communication.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-447 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-447 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-447.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-447 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Install the original Epson driver for XP-447; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.

The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
