A waste ink counter warning can prevent Epson M105 from printing even when the printer is otherwise working normally. Follow the checks and reset sequence below to restore operation safely.
What the Epson M105 service message means
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson M105 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson M105. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson M105
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for M105 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson M105 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson M105.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson M105 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
